COTTONOPOLIS TEAM UP WITH NIKKA TO PRESENT ‘THE NIKKA OMAKASE EXPERIENCE’ AS PART OF MANCHESTER LOVES COCKTAILS
On Sunday 10th September, we will be hosting a Nikka Whisky tasting and 5-course Omakase for Manchester Loves Cocktails.
Our head chef Joe Grant and Nikka Brand Ambassador Tom Bartram have created an Omakase menu to pair with Whiskies from across the extended Nikka catalogue.
All the dishes will be introduced and prepared in front of guests as they are guided through the brands story and it’s fantastic flavours.
Guest’s will receive a Misuara on arrival before tasting four dishes and four drams including:
- Salmon Sashimi paired with Nikka Coffey Grain
Crab Gunkan with Nikka Pure Malt Red
Wagyu Rib-Eye Tataki with Yoichi Single Malt
White Chocolate and Matcha Delice with The Nikka 12 Year
Guests will end the evening with a Yoichi 10 Year; an exceptionally rare and discontinued expression worth the price of a ticket alone.
Nikka are a Japanese Whisky producer, with 2 distilleries in the country founded in 1934 following a trip to Scotland by Masataka Taketsuru who fell in love with both whisky and a Scottish lady names Rita. After a studying Whisky Making at Glasgow University, he returned to his family’s Saki Factory to produce Japan’s first whisky – this is how Nikka was born.
Since then, Nikka has gone on to win a vast amount of awards at the International Spirits Challenge, the highest accolade coming in 2017 for Nikka Coffey Malt which was awarded TROPHY for grain whisky.
The event is all part of Manchester Loves Cocktails where over 100 of the North’s finest bars and Bartenders are coming together with the worlds best spirit brands to host a week long festival of special events and celebrate everything that is great within the thriving Hospitality industry of Manchester
The event will start at 6pm and tickets are £25.
